Apple has reportedly been developing a mixed headset of Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality known as Mixed Reality over the past few years. This device is predicted to be launched in the next few months.
According to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the possibility of this virtual headset device will be announced as early as January 2023. In line with the report he published in June, this time Kuo said the market has high expectations for Mixed Reality products that will be introduced by Apple.
Kuo believes the Apple Mixed Reality headset will be the next revolutionary consumer electronics product after the iPhone. According to him, this Mixed Reality headset will be the most anticipated product among other Apple devices released in 2023.
While previous reports had suggested Mixed Reality headsets would be expensive, Ming-Chi Kuo said otherwise. This Apple product analyst estimates the product will be priced at USD2000 to USD2500.
“Higher prices will affect shipping,” Ming-Chi Kuo wrote.
Meanwhile, the announcement of the Mixed Reality headset is predicted to focus on three main points. This includes use cases or product functions, software/services/development ecosystems, and detailed hardware specifications.
Regarding production issues, Kuo said, Apple can convince investors that this product will grow rapidly in the next few years. He also reported that the company is preparing a more affordable version in early 2025.
Apple has yet to make an official announcement regarding the Mixed Reality headset they are developing. However, Kuo stated, currently the company is also suspected of preparing a special Augmented Reality headset which will be their main focus. This AR headset device is expected to be announced in 2024.
