Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill has filed a lawsuit against Roblox Corporation, accusing the popular gaming platform of exposing children to predators by failing to introduce sufficient safety measures. The complaint, filed in the state’s 21st Judicial District Court, alleges negligence, deceptive practices, and unjust enrichment.
“Due to Roblox’s lack of safety protocols, it endangers the safety of the children of Louisiana,” Murrill wrote on X. The suit describes Roblox as “the perfect place for pedophiles,” citing the absence of strict age verification systems that allow adults to impersonate children and access explicit user-generated content.

The filing includes reference to a case in Livingston Parish, where a man allegedly used Roblox with voice-changing tools to pose as a young girl and coerce minors. The lawsuit argues that without stronger safeguards, such cases are likely to continue.
Roblox has also faced criticism for removing so-called “vigilante” users who posed as children to identify predators. One such figure, YouTuber Schlep, was banned despite his efforts contributing to arrests. The complaint suggests this decision further weakened protections for young players.
Shares of Roblox fell 6.34% on Friday after news of the lawsuit. Despite the decline, the company’s stock remains nearly double its value year-to-date, highlighting its continued growth even as questions over child safety intensify.
