Samsung has rolled out a new beta update for its One UI 6 Watch, offering Galaxy Watch users advanced health monitoring features and improved functionality. Notably, the update excludes special edition Galaxy Watches, with availability focusing on models from the Galaxy Watch4 to Watch6 series.
Initially available for Galaxy Watch6 and Watch6 Classic, the One UI 6 Watch beta program has now expanded to include Galaxy Watch4 and Watch5. This update introduces several AI-powered enhancements aimed at providing comprehensive insights into users’ well-being.
Among the key features introduced in the beta is Energy Scores, which utilizes sleep data and other metrics to evaluate users’ physical and mental performance throughout the day. Enhanced sleep tracking capabilities offer detailed analyses of sleep quality, including metrics like heart rate variability, respiratory rate, and sleep onset latency.
New gesture controls have also been integrated, allowing users to navigate the watch interface with simple wrist movements. Users can now customize notification settings by selecting specific apps to receive alerts directly on their watch, enhancing usability and personalization.
In addition to health and usability improvements, the beta includes quality-of-life enhancements such as the ability to save images from messages and automatic Bluetooth activation when initiating music playback on the watch. This streamlines the process of connecting to audio devices like headphones or speakers.
The official unveiling of these features is anticipated at Samsung‘s upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event on July 10th. Interested users owning Galaxy Watch6, Watch5, or Watch4 models (excluding special editions) can participate in the beta program by downloading it through the Samsung Members app. This allows users to explore the new functionalities firsthand and provide feedback on their effectiveness.
