Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. through Snapdragon Summit 2022 which will be held again in Hawaii, November 15 2022, again introducing its newest premium mobile platform, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform will set a new standard for connected computing, intelligently designed with innovative AI to enable experiences spectacular.
This new platform will reportedly be adopted by a number of OEMs and several global brands, including ASUS Republic of Gamers, HONOR, iQOO, Motorola, nubia, OnePlus, OPPO, REDMAGIC, Redmi, SHARP, Sony Corporation, vivo, Xiaomi, XINGJI/MEIZU, and ZTE, with the first commercial devices expected to launch in late 2022.

Snapdragon Smart
Powered by the fastest and most advanced Qualcomm® AI Engine, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 provides groundbreaking AI integrated across the entire system. Powered by the upgraded Qualcomm® Hexagon™ Processor, users can experience faster natural language processing with multi-language translation and advanced AI camera features.
The Hexagon processor brings new enhancements to the architecture, including micro tile inference and a larger tensor accelerator, up to a 4.35X increase in AI performance. Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is the first Snapdragon mobile platform to support the revolutionary INT4 AI precision format, with a 60%* increase in performance/watt for continuous AI inference.
The new Qualcomm® Sensing Hub, which now packs dual AI processors, supports an intuitive experience that enables custom wake words. There are additional features and tools from the Qualcomm® AI Stack, including Qualcomm® AI Studio, so developers can build even more of the next generation of AI applications.
Snapdragon Sight
This platform defines a new era of professional quality camera experience with the first Cognitive ISP. Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 automatically enhances photos and videos in real time with semantic segmentation, using neural networks or AI neural networks to make the camera contextually recognize faces, facial features, hair, clothes, skies and more, and optimize them individually so that each visible details receive customized professional image settings.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is also set to support the new image sensor. Sony Semiconductor Solutions was the first to develop quad digital overlap HDR technology, customized for Snapdragon. Samsung ISOCELL HP3, the first 200MP image sensor optimized for Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will deliver professional quality photos and videos. This platform is also the first Snapdragon to include the AV1 codec with support for video playback up to 8K HDR at 60 frames per second.
