Sony has unveiled a new rewards initiative called Franchise Rewards, offering players access to exclusive merchandise tied to in-game achievements. The program was announced in a post on the PlayStation Blog and promoted on X.
The first title included is Ghost of Tsushima. Players who earn the “Mono No Aware” or “Living Legend” trophies will gain the option to purchase limited edition items from the official Ghost Rewards store. Current offerings include a pin modeled after protagonist Jin Sakai’s mask and a T-shirt depicting the island of Tsushima.
“Players who earn the Mono No Aware or Living Legend trophies for this game can purchase limited edition products from the official Ghost Rewards store,” Sony said in its announcement.

The company confirmed that the initiative will expand later this year to include Ghost of Yotei, but it did not provide details on which additional games might be added.
Sony’s decision comes months after it discontinued its PlayStation Stars program, which had offered digital collectibles and loyalty points to players. The shift disappointed many users, leaving uncertainty about the company’s broader rewards strategy.
It remains unclear whether Franchise Rewards is intended as a full replacement. However, Sony indicated that more exclusive products could be tied to trophies in upcoming releases, potentially giving players added incentive to pursue in-game achievements.
