Japanese startup Soxai has launched the Ring 2 smart ring in its home market, adding a slimmer design and upgraded sensors as competition intensifies in the health-focused wearable segment dominated by players such as Oura and Samsung.
The Soxai Ring 2 is aimed primarily at sleep monitoring and long-term health insights, following a hardware and sensing refresh from its predecessor. The company describes the device as built around a newly developed optical sensor, saying it uses a “Deep Sensing” PPG system designed in-house to improve the accuracy of health measurements.

According to Soxai’s product description, the ring can track heart rate, blood oxygen levels, sleep stages and indicators associated with sleep apnea risk. “[The] Deep Sensing PPG sensor was developed using our own optical and algorithmic know-how,” the company said, adding that the device also integrates an AI-assisted 3D accelerometer and a skin temperature sensor.
The Ring 2 features a 6.7 mm-wide body with a thickness of 2.7 mm, making it slimmer than the previous model. It weighs between 2.1 g and 2.7 g depending on size and uses a titanium alloy exterior. Battery life is rated at up to 14 days, with contactless NFC wireless charging requiring up to two hours for a full charge.
