Tesla officially launched its Model Y L in China, a larger six-seat electric SUV, with deliveries expected to begin in September. The starting price for the vehicle is 339,000 yuan ($47,120).
The Tesla Model Y L specifications highlight several subtle updates compared with the standard Model Y. The Model Y L features subtle design changes compared with the standard Model Y, including a redesigned roofline and a re-engineered rear spoiler aimed at improving aerodynamics. Tesla said the modifications reduce the vehicle’s drag coefficient to 0.216.

Measuring 4,976 mm in length, 1,920 mm in width, and 1,668 mm in height, the Model Y L has a wheelbase of 3,040 mm, providing additional cabin space. “The Model Y L offers a CLTC range of 751 km and accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 4.5 seconds,” Tesla said, highlighting the vehicle’s performance and extended range.
Inside, the SUV comes equipped with a 16-inch central touchscreen, upgraded front wireless charging capable of 50W and 30W simultaneous output, and redesigned audio with a center console speaker plus two top speakers. Charging ports are available for every seat in both the second and third rows.

Safety features include a three-row airbag system covering over 95% of the vehicle’s longitudinal space, with a total protection span of 3.9 meters. Cargo capacity is rated at 2,539 liters, which can accommodate two 24-inch and one 20-inch suitcase, or, with the third row folded, four 28-inch and two 20-inch suitcases.
The Model Y L is powered by a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, with the front motor producing 142 kW (190 hp) and the rear motor 198 kW (266 hp). The SUV is equipped with an 82 kWh ternary lithium battery and has an energy consumption of 12.8 kWh/100 km.
