A new display device in the form of glasses, the Vision Mini, has been launched on Kickstarter, promising a portable alternative to traditional screens.
The Vision Mini is designed to deliver high display quality on the go and is compatible with a wide range of playback devices. The manufacturer also claims the device can be used by people with visual impairments.
Unlike augmented reality (AR) headsets, the Vision Mini functions primarily as a wearable screen. “These are not necessarily AR glasses, which are intended to augment reality with aids such as on-screen navigation instructions, but rather screens or televisions in the form of glasses,” the company explained on its campaign page.
The device offers a resolution of 3,840 x 1,080 pixels with a field of view of 65 degrees, a refresh rate of 60Hz and support for up to 90Hz. It connects via USB-C/DP or HDMI and features dual stereo speakers integrated into the temples. The glasses weigh 98 grams and reportedly support users with severe myopia of up to -7 diopters without requiring contact lenses.
Backers are required to pledge at least $279, excluding shipping costs, with delivery scheduled for March 2026. However, as with all crowdfunding projects, supporters face financial risks if the product fails to launch or does not perform as advertised.
The company behind the Vision Mini remains largely unknown, raising further uncertainty about the device’s prospects.
