The latest over-the-air (OTA) update is set to enhance the functionalities of various apps in and vehicles, providing drivers with an improved experience. One of the key highlights of this software push is the enhanced Apple CarPlay integration in both Volvo and Polestar vehicles. Notably, drivers will now have the ability to project Apple Maps and other compatible navigation apps onto the driver , offering a more convenient and seamless navigation experience.

Moreover, the screen situated behind the steering wheel will also provide additional information related to the driver’s phone and media while Apple CarPlay is in use. In addition to the Apple CarPlay improvements, owners of the Polestar 2 will also benefit from additional enhancements in their vehicles. The 15th update since 2020 will introduce a built-in app, allowing drivers to enjoy entertainment content while parked or during the charging process. Furthermore, the Assistant app, specific to the Polestar brand, has undergone improvements as well. It now offers drivers enhanced capabilities to monitor their energy consumption more effectively. Real-time energy usage figures will enable drivers to review their energy consumption over the last 20, 40, or 100 miles (or kilometers, depending on the market).
