Volvo has unveiled the EM90, its first all-electric multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), highlighting a blend of comfort, safety and technology aimed at premium customers.
The EM90 is powered by a 200 kW motor producing 272 horsepower and paired with a 116 kWh battery that enables up to 739 km of range under China’s CLTC cycle. Using 800-volt charging technology, the vehicle supports charging rates of up to 360 kW, allowing for significantly reduced charging times.
Inside, the model features two individual lounge-style seats in the second row, equipped with massage and climate controls, while the third row provides additional passenger space. The flexible interior can deliver between 535 liters and 2,376 liters of cargo capacity, depending on seat configuration.
Volvo has integrated Google’s infotainment system, offering seamless access to apps and navigation, alongside its signature driver assistance and safety technologies. The company said the interior was designed to resemble a “Swedish living room on wheels,” with clean lines and a minimalist layout.
The EM90 starts at 818,000 yuan ($114,532) in China. Volvo has not yet confirmed availability in Europe, North America or other global markets.
