Google’s navigation app, Waze has just added a nostalgic feel between the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s to its map display.

The new limited-time feature called Retro Mode allows users to change the mood of their navigation by heading to a different decade.

Retro Mode is a way to completely overhaul the appearance of the Waze app and take users back in time. Users can change the look and sound of the Waze app to match the decade they miss the most, between the 70s, 80s, and 90s.

If users turn to the ’70s, they’ll hear navigation instructions from the eccentric DJ and change the look of their vehicle in the Waze app into a retro VW-style bus. This mode also changes the Waze mood to a lava lamp style.

Meanwhile, when the user selects the 80s, an aerobics instructor for the navigator and a sleek striped sports car is displayed, along with a boombox mood-set.

Finally, if you choose the 90s theme, it will turn the Waze app into a desktop PC while the vehicle will turn into a classic SUV. With a 90s theme, users will get hints from 90s pop stars.

Users can also mix eras with each other. Where they can choose a 90s PC atmosphere with red sports cars and 70s DJs. The voices sound really good and have their own quirks, which can keep one entertained on the road.
