WhatsApp already offers an option to delete messages on its platform to allow users to make corrections or delete unwanted messages. But there are still times when this deletion may also be done accidentally. And now, it seems that the company is planning to restore deleted messages.
According to a WaBetaInfo report, certain new features were spotted in the latest beta version of the popular chat platform. Recently, it has been reported that WhatsApp allows users to delete messages in chats for up to two days. It also offers the option to delete messages under the ‘Delete for me only' option as well. However, the new beta comes with a cancellation for these deleted messages.
Unfortunately, this feature is currently only available for beta users. In other words, there is no final build for the end user yet. However, since it's already in beta, we can expect this feature to also be present in the general user version.
In particular, an extended time limit for deleting messages is available to all users. As per the report, the undo option for deleted messages can be seen via a pop-up at the bottom with an ‘undo' button.
Currently, the undo option is available to some beta testers on the beta version of the Android app which has version number 126.96.36.199. Keep in mind that features in beta versions can't always be confirmed to reach the final version. Therefore, we can only wait for official information from WhatsApp.
