Xiaomi has unveiled the Smart Home Screen 8 PTZ Edition in China, expanding its lineup of smart home devices. The new model combines a display with an integrated speaker and a built-in pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) camera, designed to enhance home monitoring and AI-assisted interactions.
The device supports Xiaomi’s HyperOS Connect platform, though the full feature set has not been disclosed. According to the product listing, it offers 360-degree AI care capabilities, but the company has not provided further details on this function.
The Smart Home Screen 8 PTZ Edition retains a similar design to the 2022 Smart Home Screen 10, featuring a square form factor with a rectangular display and a fabric-covered speaker underneath. Teaser images show basic home screen information, such as time, date, and weekday.
Xiaomi has not announced a release date or recommended retail price for the device, which may launch alongside the larger Smart Home Screen Max 27 on August 21 in China. Availability outside China, including Europe, remains unclear.
