Currently, folding phones are a topic that is being discussed. Samsung and Motorola as the leaders of the foldable phone market will release their new foldable phones in a few days. And rumors are rife that Xiaomi will also be bringing its newest competitor, dubbed Xiaomi Mix Fold 2. The foldable phone is said to be releasing this month and ahead of the launch, its screen specs have been leaked online.
Chinese tipster Panda claims that the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 will be equipped with a 120 Hz panel on its internal and external display. Additionally, the external display is said to use Samsung’s E5 panel, while the internal display is rumored to offer Samsung’s latest Eco2 OLED display.
Compared to the previous screen, the new Eco2 OLED screen is claimed to reduce power consumption by up to 25% and increase light transmission by up to 33%. The same screen is also used in the Samsung Galaxy Fold 3 and has excellent performance.
In a separate leak, tipster Digital Chat Station revealed that the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 will have an improved screen ratio. This device will offer a resolution of 2520 x 1080 pixels with a 21:1 aspect ratio. For reference, the previous generation Mix Fold has an aspect ratio of 21:7.
Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 is said to be launching soon. Lei Jun, CEO and founder of the company, is scheduled to hold his annual speech on August 11 and that’s when we can expect the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 to launch.
Xiaomi’s foldable phone is expected to bring significant improvements. This device is rumored to be carrying the latest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, a 50 MP main camera, and Xiaomi’s proprietary imaging chip called the Surge C1.
