The augmented reality (AR) business will boom in the next few years, as many big names including Google, Apple, and Meta start investing heavily in this industry. Now, Xiaomi has also entered the segment with its Mijia AR glasses camera which comes with 15x hybrid zoom and a dedicated Snapdragon 8 processor.

Xiaomi has officially announced the Mijia Glasses Camera and they are also open for pre-order via Xiaomi's crowdfunding platform, Youpin, for a retail price of 2,699 yuan, and a special crowdfunding price of 2,499 yuan.

These AR glasses have a similar design to what we've seen before. The device has a side-mounted camera and is equipped with multiple lenses. Reporting from Gizmochina (2/8), these glasses have a fairly light weight weighing around 100 grams.

The camera specifications of this AR glasses are quite impressive, equipped with a 4-in-1 Quad Bayer 50 MP wide-angle camera and an 8 MP periscope telephoto camera with OIS-based stabilization. Moreover, Xiaomi claims that the Mijia Camera Glasses can achieve 5x optical zoom and 15x hybrid zoom.

In addition, Mijia Glasses Camera can be easily connected to the phone via the Mijia app. Connecting with the phone will allow users to quickly move photos, apply templates to movies, share images, and much more.

Xiaomi has also packed the Mijia Glasses camera with Snapdragon 8-core independent computing platform along with 3GB RAM, 32GB storage and independent ISP so as to provide an amazing AR experience.

The screen on the Mijia Glasses Camera is a combination of a Micro OLED display + free-form optical prism. This screen has a light efficiency ratio of 60% and has also passed the low blue light certification from Rheinland Germany.
