In its ongoing pursuit of academic excellence and international recognition, Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) has entered into a new partnership with Management & Science University (MSU) Malaysia through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The collaboration underscores both institutions’ shared commitment to advancing global education, research innovation, and sustainable development.
The MoU was formally signed by Ass. Prof. Lulu April Farida, S.Pd., M.Pd., Head of the Office of International Affairs (KUI) UNNES, and Ahmad Pitra, BHM (Hons), M.Mgt., Regional Manager of the Global Affairs Department at MSU. The agreement opens up opportunities in guest lectures, joint research projects, academic exchange programs, and the Joint Degree 3+1+1 initiative, enabling students and faculty to engage in cross-border academic experiences.
During the ceremony, Ahmad Pitra highlighted MSU’s achievements and global ranking—listed among the World Top 200 Universities for International Students by QS WUR 2023—and emphasized the institution’s readiness to explore collaborative innovations with UNNES. “We believe in partnerships that inspire progress, where both institutions grow through shared vision, dialogue, and mutual learning,” he said.
Echoing the sentiment, Lulu April Farida reaffirmed that the partnership aligns with UNNES’s mission to evolve as a world-class and sustainability-driven university.
“This collaboration is a bridge to innovation and opportunity, empowering our academic community to connect, create, and contribute to global knowledge,” she noted.
The event brought together representatives from all faculties, including Vice Deans III, the Institute for Educational Development and Quality Assurance (LP3M), and the UNNES Career Center. Discussions following the signing reflected optimism, with both sides envisioning a series of joint academic and research projects in the near future.
This international collaboration represents a step forward in UNNES’s dedication to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals)—reinforcing its role as a hub for sustainable learning, innovation, and global engagement.
