Garmin has rolled out beta software version 22.05 for several of its premium smartwatch lines, including the Fenix 7 series, Epix, Enduro 2, Quatix 7, and MARQ Gen 2 models. The update follows version 22.03, released a week earlier, which added new metrics for high-intensity interval training (HIIT) activities.

The beta release includes bug fixes targeting issues that previously led to device crashes or malfunctions. Specifically, Garmin has resolved a problem where attempting to connect a GoPro through the Connect IQ app could cause the device to crash. Additionally, the company addressed a bug where the music volume page would fail to update properly during use.

A third issue, involving a potential crash when accessing the sleep coach widget, has also been corrected in the latest beta. It remains unclear whether the update also addresses user-reported problems related to the Inline Skating activity, as this was not mentioned in the release notes.

According to a Garmin forum moderator, the 22.05 beta update has been distributed over-the-air (OTA) to 50% of eligible users so far. As is standard practice for Garmin’s beta releases, the ECG app remains unavailable for users who install this software.

A Garmin representative noted in a forum post, “This update should resolve issues that some users experienced with GoPro pairing and the sleep coach. We appreciate continued feedback as we refine these features.” The company has not yet confirmed when a stable version of the update will be made available to all users.
