A new digital tabletop game set in the Dungeons & Dragons universe has launched on Steam, aiming to make cooperative play easier by removing the need for a human dungeon master. Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked, developed and published by Resolution Games, was released on Nov. 20 and is priced at $29.99.

Set in the Forgotten Realms, the turn-based tactics game allows players to select heroes and move them across dungeon boards like physical miniatures. Instead of relying on a dungeon master to manage rules and pacing, the game automates those elements, offering what its developers describe as a more accessible alternative to traditional tabletop sessions.

Unlike long-form tabletop campaigns, Battlemarked is designed for shorter sessions with a guided structure. The experience is intended to be “more ‘set up and play’ than ‘plan your entire weekend around it,’” according to the game’s description, with curated encounters and decision points replacing open-ended improvisation.

The game supports cross-play across multiple platforms, including Steam on PC and PCVR, PlayStation 5 and PS VR2, and Meta’s Horizon Store. That broad compatibility has helped early adoption, with Steam user reviews rated “Very Positive,” showing roughly 80% positive feedback across several hundred ratings.

Some players have raised concerns about missing features such as a battle log, limited visibility of character movement and the absence of long-term bot progression, alongside occasional synchronization issues. Even so, developers have signaled ongoing support, adding limited-time quests, solo-play options with full custom parties and quality-of-life updates.

Battlemarked also supports controller play and is verified for Steam Deck, positioning it as a portable option for cooperative tactics fans. For now, the $29.99 price point remains unchanged since launch, according to SteamDB data.
