Sony’s PlayStation division has set a Sept. 15, 2026 release date for Marvel’s Wolverine, the upcoming single-player action game developed by Insomniac Games, marking the company’s latest collaboration with Marvel.

The date aligns with a previously announced Fall 2026 launch window that the studio reaffirmed in November 2025. Sony shared the confirmed release timing in a post across its social media channels, stating that “Marvel’s Wolverine will be released on September 15, 2026.”

The title will launch exclusively on the PlayStation 5 and is currently available to wishlist via the PlayStation Store. While Sony did not disclose pricing or pre-order details, such information is typically announced closer to release.

First revealed in 2021, Marvel’s Wolverine is the fourth Marvel-based game developed by Insomniac. The studio previously delivered three commercially successful titles tied to Spider-Man: Marvel’s Spider-Man, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Unlike those interconnected releases, Marvel’s Wolverine is reported to begin a new trilogy separate from the Spider-Man storyline.

A cinematic trailer was released last year, but no additional footage or gameplay details have been shared since. Some fans had anticipated further updates during Sony’s State of Play presentation on Feb. 12, though the game was not mentioned at the event.

With roughly six months remaining until launch, Sony and Insomniac are expected to provide further information, including pricing and potential special-edition hardware. For previous major releases such as Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Sony introduced limited-edition accessories and consoles themed around the game, a strategy that could be repeated for Wolverine.
