Honor has introduced the Watch GS 5 in China, expanding its smartwatch lineup with a model aimed at the value segment. The device pairs a lightweight aluminum design with a high-brightness AMOLED display and a battery life that the company says can last several weeks, while keeping the retail price at 699 yuan, or roughly $100.
The Watch GS 5 features a round 44 mm case with a thickness of 9.9 mm and weighs 26 grams. It carries a 5 ATM water-resistance rating, making it suitable for swimming and everyday wear. Honor has opted for an aluminum bezel and a plastic rear casing to balance durability and comfort.

A 1.32-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 466 by 466 pixels and a peak brightness of 1,500 nits sits at the center of the watch. Honor estimates battery life of up to 23 days under typical use, dropping to about nine days when the always-on display is enabled. The hardware also includes GPS, NFC, speakers, microphones, an ambient light sensor and a heart rate sensor.
Health tracking is positioned as a key selling point, with the watch designed to monitor heart-related indicators and flag a potential elevated risk of conditions such as atrial fibrillation, irregular heart rhythm and sleep apnea. These functions are intended to raise awareness rather than provide medical diagnoses, and users are advised to consult healthcare professionals for clinical evaluation.

Additional features include sleep and menstrual cycle tracking, an AI-based voice assistant and support for more than 100 sports modes. Honor has not yet confirmed whether the Watch GS 5 will be released outside China or provided details on international pricing and availability.
