Acemagic said it will launch a new line of retro-inspired mini personal computers, the Retro X Series, as the company looks to combine classic gaming aesthetics with modern AMD-based computing platforms. The lineup will debut with two models, the Retro X3 and the higher-end Retro X5, aimed at users seeking compact systems for gaming, productivity and future AI-related workloads.
The flagship Retro X5 is built around AMD’s Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor, featuring 12 cores and 24 threads, along with Radeon 890M integrated graphics. Acemagic said the device is designed to handle demanding games, multitasking and upcoming AI-driven applications, supported by AMD’s XDNA 2 neural processing unit, which delivers up to 50 TOPS of AI performance.

“Our goal is to bring together nostalgic design and cutting-edge performance in a form factor that fits modern lifestyles,” the company said in the press release, highlighting the Retro X5 as its most advanced mini-PC to date.
Alongside the flagship model, Acemagic will introduce the Retro X3, positioned as a more efficiency-focused system. The Retro X3 uses the AMD Ryzen 7 H 255 processor based on the Zen 4 architecture, with eight cores and 16 threads, paired with Radeon 780M graphics. Unlike the Retro X5, the Retro X3 does not include a dedicated AI accelerator, reflecting its emphasis on traditional CPU and GPU performance.

Acemagic said the Retro X Series builds on the commercial success of its earlier F3A and F5A mini-PCs, which are also based on AMD’s Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 platform. The company added that the retro console-inspired design of the new lineup is intended to appeal to gamers who value classic aesthetics while requiring the performance needed for modern software and games.
