Acer said it will increase prices for some of its personal computer products in Japan later this month, citing higher memory and storage costs as the technology sector grapples with a prolonged supply crunch.
In a notice posted on its Predator Gaming JPN account on X, the company said the new pricing will take effect on Feb. 20, 2026. Purchases completed by Feb. 19 will remain at current prices. The announcement follows similar moves by other technology brands that have raised prices in response to surging costs for RAM, solid-state drives and graphics components.
Acer attributed the decision to escalating procurement costs for memory and SSDs. “We will revise the prices of products sold through our official online store,” the company said in the post, adding that some items will not be subject to the increase.
It was not immediately clear whether the adjustment would extend beyond Japan. Because the announcement was made through the company’s Japanese social media account, the changes may be limited to that market. However, industry-wide supply constraints have driven up component prices globally in recent months.

The company did not specify which products would be affected. Analysts say devices that rely heavily on memory and storage components — including laptops, tablets and pre-built gaming desktops — are the most likely to see higher prices, while peripherals may remain unchanged.
