Toyota Motor North America said on Monday it is partnering with Treehouse to simplify the home charging process for buyers of 2026 and newer Toyota and Lexus battery electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles. The initiative is designed to support customers as home charging becomes a central part of electric vehicle ownership.
Treehouse, described by the companies as a software-enabled operating system for electrification programs, will provide end-to-end installation services for Level 2 AC home charging. The company uses virtual scoping technology that allows customers to receive an upfront installation quote within 48 hours by submitting photos and completing a short survey, reducing the need for multiple home visits to a single installation appointment.

“Toyota and Lexus vehicles have a reputation for being easy to own and enjoyable to drive, so the home-charging experience should be as well,” said Thibaut de Barros Conti, vice president of Business Incubation & Development at Toyota Motor North America. He added that Treehouse provides customers with “a one-stop shop to install their home-charging solutions.”
All 2026 and newer Toyota and Lexus battery electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles will come standard with a dual-voltage 120V/240V AC home charging cable, enabling both Level 1 and Level 2 charging. The cable has a maximum output of 7.7 kW and, under ideal conditions, can recharge a vehicle from roughly 10% to full overnight. Toyota said it has included dual-voltage cables with its battery electric vehicles nationwide since the 2024 model year and will do so for plug-in hybrids starting in 2026.

Customers may also opt for a hardwired Level 2 charger, including the ChargePoint Home Flex, which Treehouse says can cut charging times by up to 30% depending on vehicle and configuration. “By bringing seamless, end-to-end home charging solutions into the EV ownership journey, this collaboration with Toyota reflects our shared commitment to making electrification easy and accessible for consumers,” said Eric Owski, co-founder and chief executive of Treehouse.
