Google Allocates 25 Million Euros to Promote AI Education in Europe

Google has pledged 25 million euros ($26.98 million) to support efforts aimed at enhancing artificial intelligence (AI) literacy in . The tech giant unveiled this funding initiative on Monday, inviting applications from social enterprises and nonprofits dedicated to providing AI training to individuals who could benefit the most.

Adrian Brown, Executive Director of the Centre for Public Impact, emphasized the importance of such initiatives, stating, “Research shows that the benefits of AI could exacerbate existing inequalities — especially in terms of economic security and employment.” He further added, “This new program will help people across Europe develop their knowledge, skills, and confidence around AI, ensuring that no one is left behind.”

Moreover, plans to establish “growth academies” to assist companies utilizing AI in scaling their operations. Additionally, the company has expanded its range of free online AI training courses to include 18 languages, aiming to make AI education more accessible.

Last month, Google announced a separate investment of $1 billion in constructing a new data center near London to address the increasing demand for internet services in the region. The data center, situated on a 33-acre site acquired by Google in 2020, will be located in Waltham Cross, approximately 15 miles north of central London, as per a statement from the -owned company.
