Geekom has introduced its latest miniature computing solution, the AX7 Pro, expanding its lineup with a focus on versatile performance and connectivity options.

The AX7 Pro follows closely on the heels of its predecessor, the AX8 Pro, with notable distinctions in its core specifications. While the AX8 Pro showcased the AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS , the AX7 Pro opts for the Ryzen 9 7940HS. Both processors promise comparable performance levels, although the Ryzen 9 8945HS stands out for its enhanced XDNA NPU, catering specifically to AI workloads.

Gamers will find appeal in the AX7 Pro’s capabilities, driven by the 780M iGPU integrated within the Ryzen 9 7940HS. This configuration allows the to efficiently handle various games at lower to moderate settings.

Key to its versatility is the inclusion of a 40 Gbps USB4 port, facilitating the option to install an external GPU for enhanced gaming performance. However, some enthusiasts may lament the absence of an OCuLink port, which offers superior bandwidth at 64 Gbps, ideal for external GPU setups.

In terms of connectivity, the AX7 Pro boasts a comprehensive array of ports, including three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C, and one USB 2.0 port. It also features a 2.5 Ethernet port and HDMI 2.0, supporting simultaneous video output to up to four screens—a boon for multi-monitor setups.

Internally, the mini PC accommodates up to 64 GB of DDR5 RAM across two slots and offers storage flexibility with a PCIe 4.0 slot capable of housing up to a 2 TB SSD. Additional features include WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, an IceBlast cooling system, and pre-installed Windows 11 Pro.

Although not yet globally launched, the AX7 Pro is expected to retail at approximately €1,008 ($1,093) for the variant equipped with 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage. For budget-conscious consumers, alternatives such as the Minisforum UM790 Pro offer competitive features at a lower point, currently priced at $431.92 on Amazon.
