German networking specialist Devolo has introduced a new portable WiFi router with 5G connectivity, offering mobile internet access for multiple devices in areas without fixed broadband connections.
The Devolo WiFi 6 Router 3600 5G LTE supports Nano SIM cards for 5G networks, with fallback options for LTE and 3G when higher-speed connections are unavailable.
Measuring 113 x 113 x 223 mm, the router delivers speeds of up to 2,400 Mbps on the 5GHz band and 1,200 Mbps on the 2.4GHz band. While it lacks support for WiFi 7 or WiFi 6E, the device is equipped with WiFi 4, 5, and 6, making it suitable for high-speed wireless networking.
The absence of WiFi 7 is unlikely to be a limiting factor, as cellular network speeds typically remain the primary bottleneck.
In addition to its mobile capabilities, the device functions as a conventional router with two Ethernet ports—one WAN port supporting up to 2.5 Gbps and one LAN port with a 1 Gbps connection.
It also features an FSX port for analog telephones, a USB port, guest WiFi, and parental controls, which can be configured via the Devolo app or web interface.
The Devolo WiFi 6 Router 3600 5G LTE is available for order on the company’s UK online store for £449 and is also being sold in various European markets.
