Garmin has released beta version 10.36 for its Instinct 3 and Instinct E smartwatches, addressing several software bugs that had been affecting user experience.
The update, which follows the stable 10.30 release in August, includes fixes to the Broadcast Heart Rate function, flashlight behavior, weather glance readings and Connect IQ data display. It is being distributed over the air through the Garmin Connect app and can also be installed via Garmin’s Express software.
The company said it had resolved a bug affecting the Broadcast Heart Rate function when accessed through a hot key, as well as a flashlight issue where the strobe mode would not switch off after an activity. Owners of the Instinct 3 Solar and Instinct E also received fixes for temperature data in the weather glance and Connect IQ fields that had not been populating correctly.
In addition, Garmin said it addressed a problem that could cause the Instinct 3 Solar to crash when pairing a Running Dynamics Pod.
“Garmin has released beta version 10.36 for users of the Instinct 3 AMOLED, Instinct 3 Solar and Instinct E smartwatches,” the company said in its update notes. “It tackles a range of bugs, including issues with the Broadcast Heart Rate function, flashlight, weather glance, and sensor pairing.”
