Helldivers 2 may soon expand its customization system to include player ships, according to details found in game files by a community user. The feature has long been requested by fans, who currently can only personalize weapons and characters.
A post by user Iron_S1ghts on X indicated that the files reference options for altering ship colors, banners and textures. “It will be possible to change the primary color on the exterior and interior, the secondary color, and the banner,” the user wrote, adding that texture customization also appears to be included.

One thing to note with this one, the content is possibly scrapped

It remains uncertain whether these features are intended for release. Iron_S1ghts also noted that some of the files may have been deleted, raising the possibility that the content was either scrapped or reserved for a future update by developer Arrowhead Game Studios.
The potential addition would bring the game closer to other titles in the genre that offer extensive ship customization. Since its launch, Helldivers 2 has drawn steady demand from players seeking more personalization options across its systems.
Arrowhead has not made an official announcement, leaving it unclear whether the feature will be included in upcoming patches or expansions. For now, speculation centers on whether ship customization will arrive as part of the studio’s post-launch content strategy.
