YouTube has introduced a new program called YouTube Labs, giving users access to experimental artificial intelligence features designed to shape the platform’s future.

The initiative will allow a limited number of participants in the United States to test early prototypes and provide feedback. The first experiment focuses on YouTube Music, where AI-generated hosts share background stories, trivia, and commentary to enhance the listening experience.

YouTube described the project as “a new way for users to take our cutting edge AI experiments for a test drive,” underscoring its aim to expand user involvement in the development process.

The company said feedback from participants will help refine its AI features before they are introduced more widely. YouTube has not disclosed how long the trial will run or when the tools might become available to a broader audience.
