OnePlus has officially launched OxygenOS 16, its latest operating system built on Android 16, featuring a suite of AI-powered tools, integration with Google’s Gemini, and cross-device functions that now extend to Apple products. .
AI is at the heart of the new system, led by Plus Mind, which organizes user data in a digital “Mind Space.” The update also adds voice note transcription, contextual search, image optimization, and creative features such as YumSee, which generates food photos from scanned menus, and Party Up, which makes short highlight videos from photos.
OxygenOS 16 also integrates Google’s Gemini AI within Plus Mind, allowing simultaneous searches across device storage, the web, and Gemini’s database. A new AI-assisted writing tool can proofread, summarize, and polish text, a feature reminiscent of Apple’s own Intelligence suite.
Through O+ Connect, OnePlus expands cross-device connectivity to include file sharing and screen mirroring between OnePlus phones, PCs, and Macs. The system can also transfer data with iPhones and connect to Apple Watch via the OHealth app for call, notification, and health data management.
The company said performance has been improved with the updated Flow Motion engine for smoother animations and Parallel Processing 2.0 for faster multitasking. OxygenOS 16 will debut on the upcoming OnePlus 15, with a beta program for older models beginning October 17.
