Sony has introduced a new version of the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition to commemorate the console’s fifth anniversary. The model, officially designated CFI-2200B01, is exclusive to Japan and will be released on November 21, 2025, at a price of ¥55,000 (approximately $350).
The special edition features a matte surface design with minor case revisions while maintaining the same internal specifications as the standard PS5 Digital Edition. The console includes an 825 GB solid-state drive, a preinstalled copy of Astro’s Playroom, and a DualSense wireless controller, HDMI, USB, and power cables.

Unlike the global models, this version limits its interface to the Japanese language and restricts access to the Japanese PlayStation Store for online game purchases. The system also supports accessories from the PS5 CFI-2000 series, including the optional external disc drive.
As part of the anniversary celebration, Sony is running a “Go!Go!PS5” campaign that incorporates the console’s double “five” pricing into its promotional theme. Japanese PlayStation Network account holders are being offered a discount coupon for the PlayStation Store, with additional anniversary announcements expected to follow.
