Garmin has released a new beta firmware update for its Instinct 3, Instinct Crossover and Instinct E smartwatches, marking the second beta build within days. The software, Beta Version 12.19, follows the earlier 12.18 release and brings a small set of unspecified refinements.
The company’s change log offers limited detail, describing the update as delivering “miscellaneous bug fixes and improvements,” without clarifying which issues have been addressed. This leaves it unclear whether the beta tackles the battery drain problem reported by some users in Version 12.17, which appeared to occur when using certain Connect IQ watch faces. Garmin has also not confirmed whether the update resolves a bug reported in its forums where Treadmill activity appeared multiple times within the Running activity list.

The firmware arrives as the Instinct lineup continues to receive additional functionality. Recent updates introduced Health Status, a feature that compares sleep-related data to a user’s baseline to offer a clearer view of overall well-being. Another enhancement added in Version 12.17 was a new Pulse Ox watch-face data field, expanding the available metrics users can view at a glance.
The beta software is available now to eligible participants across the Instinct 3 AMOLED, Instinct 3 Solar, Instinct 3 Tactical, Instinct Crossover and Instinct E models. Users can access the update through Garmin’s Beta Program.
