Homey has officially released the Homey Pro Mini in Europe, nearly a year after its initial debut in the United States. The compact smart home hub is now available in Germany for €249, marking the first European market to receive the device after months of postponement.
The Pro Mini is positioned as a streamlined and more affordable alternative to the larger Homey Pro. According to the company, the device retains broad networking capabilities, supporting Matter, Thread and Zigbee out of the box and offering an Ethernet connection for stable integration. The original announcement stated that the Pro Mini provides “a more compact and affordable version of its Homey Pro smart home hub.”

Users seeking wider compatibility can integrate the optional Homey Bridge to enable additional standards, including Z-Wave, Bluetooth, 433 MHz and infrared. This modular approach allows the Pro Mini to serve customers who want a smaller hub without limiting long-term smart home expansion.
Like the Pro, the Homey Pro Mini can connect devices from more than 1,000 manufacturers and supports extensive automation through Flow, Advanced Flow and HomeyScript. The model also features Homey Energy, a tool for home energy monitoring, which is increasingly relevant as European households adopt smart metering systems.

The hub is designed primarily for local operation, with an optional cloud backup service available for an additional €10 per year. The European launch comes as manufacturers continue to compete in a rapidly consolidating smart home market, where interoperability across multiple wireless standards has become a key point of differentiation.
