Garmin appears to be preparing a new fitness tracker with built-in GPS, according to a series of recent leaks and regulatory filings, suggesting the company may soon revive its long-dormant Vivosmart lineup.
The U.S.-based wearables maker has expanded its portfolio this year with products such as the Index Sleep Monitor and the high-end Fenix 8 Pro smartwatch. Now, attention is turning back to the Vivosmart series, which has not seen a major update since the Vivosmart 5 was released more than three years ago with a monochrome OLED display and up to seven days of battery life.

Evidence of a successor emerged after Garmin Rumors reported finding a product description on Garmin’s Indonesian website referencing a Vivosmart 6. The listing describes a unisex device with built-in GPS and broad activity tracking support. “Vivosmart 6 is a stylish sports watch suitable for both men and women,” the description said, adding that it supports “more than 30 sports apps.”
Additional signs have surfaced in Europe, where a placeholder page for a Vivoactive 6 briefly appeared on Garmin’s Swedish website and referenced the Vivosmart 6 by name, despite not clearly identifying it as a fitness tracker.

Regulatory filings have further fueled speculation. A Garmin device with the model number A04986 has recently received certification from South Korea’s National Radio Research Agency, a step that often precedes product launches. While the filing does not explicitly name the Vivosmart 6, the timing and accumulated leaks point to an early 2026 refresh of Garmin’s slim fitness tracker range.
