Garmin has released a new beta software update for its Instinct 3, Instinct E and Instinct Crossover smartwatches, continuing the company’s 13.xx testing cycle with additional activity tracking features and bug fixes. The beta version 13.12 follows an earlier update that introduced changes to Morning Report customization and Training Readiness tools.
The latest release adds a new Treadmill Walk activity for users across the supported Instinct models, expanding indoor workout tracking options. Garmin also addressed an issue affecting the training menu for Pool Swim activities, which had been reported by some testers during the earlier phase of the beta program.

Additional features are limited to certain variants in the lineup. The Instinct 3 Solar, Instinct 3 AMOLED and Instinct Crossover now support logging pack weight during Floor Climb activities, mirroring a similar enhancement introduced previously for Stair Stepper workouts. Meanwhile, a separate fix resolves a problem with the Connect IQ app icon display on the Instinct 3 AMOLED and Instinct Crossover models.
Garmin said the update can be installed manually through the device settings, but cautioned that the software is still in testing. The company noted that some connectivity problems remain unresolved for users who rely on satellite-linked features.
