Sid Meier’s Civilization VII is set to arrive on Apple Arcade on Feb. 5, expanding the strategy franchise to iOS, iPadOS and macOS through a version adapted specifically for Apple hardware, according to details published on the App Store.

The release, titled Civilization VII Arcade Edition, is designed for mobile and tablet play while retaining the core elements of the long-running 4X strategy series, including exploration, city-building, diplomacy, technological development and conquest. It is based on the main game that launched on other platforms in February 2025.

The Arcade Edition will launch without multiplayer support and will not receive downloadable content or post-release updates planned for the PC version. It uses touch-based controls, while also supporting controllers and mouse input.

Compatibility will be limited to devices equipped with Apple’s A17 Pro chip or newer, narrowing support to recent iPhone, iPad and Mac models. Larger map sizes will require at least 8 GB of memory, a standard met by all supported devices.

The game will require about 3.5 GB of storage and will be available exclusively through Apple Arcade, Apple’s subscription-based gaming service.
