Apple has released iOS 26.3, introducing new features that expand interoperability beyond its ecosystem. The update is available free of charge for supported devices, including the iPhone SE (2nd generation), the iPhone 11 and newer models.

Although official release notes focus on security updates and bug fixes, the software also includes changes driven by regulatory requirements in the European Union. One of the most notable additions is a built-in option that enables users to transfer a wide range of personal data from an iPhone to an Android smartphone during the Android device setup process.

The transfer can include photos, saved passwords, messages, notes, applications and contacts. Users utilizing an eSIM can also migrate their phone number. The process relies on a direct WiFi connection between the two devices, allowing data to move without external storage or cloud services.

The update further enhances compatibility with third-party accessories. Wireless earbuds from other manufacturers can now automatically pair with an iPhone when powered on nearby, mirroring functionality previously limited to Apple’s AirPods Pro.

In addition, notifications can now be relayed to third-party smartwatches, including models from Pebble. These devices will be able to interact with notifications in a similar way to the Apple Watch, provided manufacturers issue the necessary software updates.
