Reels is now on Facebook with new features

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg officially released globally. This short video feature first appeared on in 2020, followed by Facebook one year later. However, Facebook Reels at that time was only available to users in the United States. Now, this feature has been launched for 150 countries, including Indonesia.

“Reels is already our fastest growing content format by far, and today we’re making it available to everyone on Facebook globally,” Zuckerberg said in a Facebook post.

Zuckerberg also said he wanted to make Reels a place for creators to connect with their community. To that end, the company is bringing a new feature on Facebook Reels that allows creators to make money. This monetization feature includes banner ads at the bottom of the video and sticker ads that can be placed anywhere by creators.

However, the monetization feature is currently only available for the US, Canada and Mexico regions. says it will expand the feature to more countries in the coming weeks.

In addition, Facebook Reels also has a series of new editing features, including Remix, Drafts, and Video Clipping. Facebook Reels will also support 60-second videos. According to the official Meta blog, users can watch Reels in many places on Facebook, namely Stories, Watch, Groups and Feeds.

Reels on Facebook is also integrated into Instagram, so creators can share it at once across two platforms. Other users on Facebook can also comment on and share Reels, just like those on Instagram.
