Asus has officially begun global sales of its latest flagship gaming laptop, the ROG Strix Scar 18 (2026), bringing upgraded display technology, higher power limits, and next-generation hardware to the premium gaming segment.

The new model builds on the foundation of the 2025 ROG Strix Scar 18 while introducing several notable enhancements aimed at enthusiasts seeking maximum gaming performance.

4K Mini LED Display with 240Hz Refresh Rate

One of the most significant upgrades is the laptop’s new 18-inch Mini LED display.

Unlike the previous generation, which used a lower-resolution panel, the 2026 model features a 4K display with a 240Hz refresh rate, delivering sharper visuals while maintaining ultra-smooth gameplay.

The screen supports a peak HDR brightness of up to 1,600 nits and incorporates Asus’ new ROG Nebula ELMB technology. According to the company, the technology improves motion clarity by up to 16 times compared to conventional implementations while preserving brightness performance during fast-moving scenes.

Higher Power Budget for Improved Performance

Asus has also increased the laptop’s power delivery capabilities.

The company includes a new power adapter with approximately 18% higher wattage capacity, allowing the system to draw up to 320W of combined power under full CPU and GPU workloads.

The Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX processor can reportedly reach up to 200W, representing a substantial increase over the previous generation.

Meanwhile, Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 5080 and RTX 5090 Laptop GPUs retain a maximum graphics power of 175W.

The additional CPU headroom is expected to provide improved gaming and productivity performance, particularly in CPU-intensive workloads.

    Premium Hardware Configuration

The ROG Strix Scar 18 (G835) is available with Nvidia’s latest GeForce RTX 50-series mobile graphics options, including the RTX 5080 and flagship RTX 5090 configurations.

Memory and storage options vary by model.

The entry-level RTX 5080 configuration includes:

    • 32GB RAM
    • 1TB SSD
    • GeForce RTX 5080 Laptop GPU

    Higher-end models offer:

    • GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU with 24GB VRAM
    • 64GB LPDDR5X memory
    • 2TB SSD

The combination positions the Scar 18 among the most powerful gaming laptops currently available.

    Premium Pricing Reflects Flagship Positioning

The ROG Strix Scar 18 (2026) enters the market as one of Asus’ most expensive gaming laptops.

    Pricing starts at:

    • $4,299 in the United States for the RTX 5080 model
    • £4,199 in the United Kingdom
    • €4,499 across the Eurozone

The RTX 5090 configuration is priced at £5,299 in the UK, representing approximately a 26% premium over the lower-tier model.

As an added incentive, Asus is including a free copy of Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight with qualifying UK purchases.

    Targeting Enthusiast Gamers

With its 4K 240Hz Mini LED display, increased power limits, and cutting-edge CPU and GPU combination, the ROG Strix Scar 18 (2026) is clearly aimed at gamers and content creators who prioritize maximum performance over portability or price.

The launch further strengthens Asus’ position in the high-end gaming laptop market, where manufacturers continue pushing desktop-class performance into increasingly powerful mobile systems.
