LG first introduced a rollable phone at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in 2021. At the exhibition, the phone looks to be able to change shape to be larger than its normal size. This sophisticated phone becomes the next model of the Project Explorer developed by the company.

Unfortunately, a few months later, LG decided to leave the smartphone industry business. This makes several smart phone products being developed by the company were forced to be canceled. One of the models that the company didn’t produce was the LG rollable phone. Other models that suffered the same fate were the V70 ThinQ and Velvet 2 Pro smartphones.

A year after the decision, a video on YouTube showed the original look of the LG rollable phone. This 25-second video was uploaded by a South Korean citizen on his personal YouTube channel.

Launching Gizmochina (13/7), the video shows the roll-in and roll-out mechanism of a mobile phone screen that can be rolled up. This LG smartphone device looks to have a flexible AMOLED screen.

In the video, the phone appears to come with a unique design that is very suitable for the functionality of the Android 12L working system. Through the rolling mechanism, smartphone shortcuts can work smoothly and quickly when activated.

In addition, the system UI on this smartphone can change immediately when the device is opened, as well as set the expanded layout and view a portion of the home screen when the rollable phone is closed.

Considering that no one has ever seen this LG smartphone product on the market, the video seems to be enough to answer the curiosity of the fans. However, so far there is no information whether LG will sell the device or not.
