Quoting Tech Crunch, Monday (12/20/2021), the menus in restaurants will be selected according to the most popular viral food uploads on TikTok. Users in the United States can get their food delivery service directly to their home through Grubhub.

According to information, TikTok plans to launch this food delivery service in 300 locations, starting March 2022. Furthermore, TikTok will open more than 1,100 restaurants by the end of 2022.

The starter menu provided includes the top viral dishes on TikTok. Ranging from grilled feta pasta, smash burgers, and pasta chips. These foods are gaining immense traction throughout 2021.

Google previously reported that the food above is the most searched dish of 2021 after its popularity on TikTok.

In the future, the menus will be changed every three months according to what is viral on TikTok. It is currently unknown whether TikTok will make a number of popular foods permanent on its service.

Previously, TikTok confirmed, creators would get credit for dishes in the menu and featured across partnerships.

“Proceeds from the sale of TikTok Kitchen will be used to support creators who inspire menu items and to encourage and help other creators to express themselves on TikTok, in line with our mission to inspire creativity and bring joy to all users,” said TikTok.

TikTok also clarifies that the presence of this food delivery service is a campaign to bring food on TikTok to fans and not to enter the restaurant business.

This means that TikTok is likely to see this as a marketing effort rather than a long-term business. Unfortunately TikTok doesn’t say how long the campaign will run or provide any details about the ordering process or how the menu is selected.
