So far, Apple has often provided a 12 MP main camera for its smartphone line. Even for the newest device, the iPhone 13 Series, the main camera still uses a 12 MP resolution supported by various other sensors and the latest features.

The latest report predicts that there is a high possibility that the iPhone 14 Series, especially the iPhone 14 Pro Series, will use a 48 MP main sensor instead of 12 MP.

This claim was expressed by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, where the 48 MP sensor is still limited to the Pro version only, and allows users to record 8K quality videos. iPhone 14 Pro which features a 48 MP camera will have 48 megapixel and 12 megapixel output support using the pixel-binning process. Like some other Android devices, this process allows the iPhone 14 Pro to shoot 48 megapixels in bright lighting conditions, and 12 megapixels in low light conditions.

Not only that, Kuo also revealed the possibility of Apple bringing a periscope camera for the iPhone 15, but this device will also only be presented around 2023.
