Antigravity, a brand incubated by camera company Insta360, has released what it says is the first consumer-grade drone equipped with 360-degree cameras. The launch of the Antigravity A1 precedes the upcoming DJI Avata 360, marking an early entrance into a product category centered on immersive aerial video.

The A1 weighs 249 grams with its standard Flight Battery, ensuring EU C0 certification, while the High-Capacity Flight Battery increases its weight to 291 grams, moving it into the C1 classification. The drone delivers up to 24 minutes of flight time with the Flight Battery or 39 minutes when equipped with the high-capacity option. Other specifications include an operating range of up to 23 km and a 1/1.28-inch 8K sensor that captures 360° footage at 30 frames per second and 55-megapixel photos.

The drone is accompanied by Vision Goggles featuring dual 2.5K Micro OLED displays. However, the headset relies on an external battery rather than a built-in power solution, differing from DJI’s recent headset lineup. The A1 supports GPS, BeiDou and Galileo navigation systems and can reach speeds of up to 35.8 mph in its S Mode with wind resistance rated at 24 mph.

Antigravity said the A1 has been under development since the brand was announced in July and previewed in August. The company indicated that the drone has been prioritized for early release, stating “the Antigravity A1 has been a long time coming” in reference to its accelerated launch ahead of DJI’s competitor.

The Antigravity A1 is now on sale for US$1,599, CA$1,899, €1,399, £1,219 and AU$2,199. Customers seeking additional accessories can opt for the Explorer Bundle or Infinity Bundle, which add flight batteries, propellers and storage upgrades at higher price points. The company has not announced when additional retail channels will carry the product.
