Argo Cargo Bikes has launched the Fy Cargo Bike Kit 2.0, a system designed to convert conventional e-bikes with rear-hub motors into cargo bikes, offering a lower-cost alternative to buying a new model.
The kit features a reinforced aluminum frame, redesigned steering for improved maneuverability, and a waterproof cargo box made of phenolic plywood that can carry up to 68 kilograms. Safety belts can also be attached for child passengers. The full kit weighs 18.2 kilograms.
“The Argo Fy Cargo Bike Kit 2.0 allows you to convert an e-bike with a rear hub motor into a fully-fledged cargo bike at low cost,” the Denver-based company said in a statement. The system also includes two hydraulic disc brakes, designed to provide consistent braking regardless of load or speed.
Argo offers optional upgrades including a Quick Bolt mechanism for tool-free disassembly, allowing the bike to be split into two parts for storage or transport. A rain cover is also available, which can be stowed beneath the cargo box when not in use.
The Fy Cargo Bike Kit 2.0 is priced at $1,199, with global shipping from the United States set to begin in December 2025. Compatibility is currently limited to rear-hub motor e-bikes, with mid-drive support planned for 2027.
