Canadian electric motorcycle manufacturer Beachman has unveiled the Aviator, a new electric café racer that will launch across North America this summer in three configurations, with prices starting at US$5,499.
The Aviator lineup includes a Class 2 electric bicycle, a light motorcycle and a premium 125cc-equivalent model scheduled to arrive later this year. Beachman said it is currently fulfilling more than 150 customer preorders before entering full-scale production.
Three Configurations
The entry-level Aviator E-Bike is classified as a Class 2 electric bicycle, offering a top speed of 20 mph on public roads and up to 35 mph for off-road use. It can also be registered as a 50cc moped where regulations permit and supports a payload of up to 300 pounds.
The Aviator Light Motorcycle increases top speed to 45 mph and raises payload capacity to 350 pounds. As a street-legal motorcycle, it requires registration, insurance and a valid motorcycle license.
Beachman also plans to launch a premium 125cc-equivalent model later this fall. The upcoming version will feature an 8kW electric motor, a fixed 8.2kWh battery, an estimated top speed of approximately 60 mph and a driving range of more than 125 miles.
Battery Choices and Practical Design
The Aviator E-Bike and Light Motorcycle are offered with removable battery packs in two capacities.
Customers can select a 2.8kWh battery delivering a claimed range of more than 55 miles or a larger 4.3kWh battery capable of traveling over 80 miles on a single charge.
All Aviator models are built on Beachman’s newly developed unified frame, designed to improve durability, ride comfort and battery security.
A redesigned faux fuel tank incorporates approximately two gallons of lockable storage while also housing a USB-C charging port for electronic devices.
Ben Taylor, Co-Founder of Beachman, highlighted one of the design’s practical benefits.
“One of the biggest benefits of the new frame design is the built-in storage.”
He added:
“On a traditional gas motorcycle, that space is occupied by the fuel tank. With the Aviator, we were able to turn it into a lockable two-gallon storage compartment that’s perfect for gloves, snacks, groceries, or whatever you need for the ride.”
Safety and Customization
The Aviator comes equipped with brake lights, turn signals, mirrors, side reflectors, a headlight and a horn.
Its battery is secured by a double-locking mechanism, while a 45-degree handlebar lock provides additional theft protection when parked.
Beachman also offers five standard paint colors along with optional accessories including custom tank wraps, leather seats, handlebars, grips and saddlebags, with additional customization options planned through 2027.
Taylor said the new model is intended to bridge the gap between electric bicycles and motorcycles.
“The Aviator delivers a level of confidence out on the road that is more motorcycle than e-bike.”
He added:
“At Beachman, our goal has always been to build beautiful machines that inspire people to get outside, explore their surroundings, and enjoy their ride.”
Pricing and Availability
The Aviator E-Bike starts at US$5,499, while the Aviator Light Motorcycle is priced from US$5,999.
Both models will be built to order for customers across North America, with the premium 125cc-equivalent version expected to launch later this fall.
