Game Console has introduced the R36VX, a compact vertical handheld designed for retro gaming, taking inspiration from the Anbernic RG40XX V while making several design adjustments.
The device features a 3.5-inch, 640 x 480-pixel display with a 4:3 aspect ratio, a single recessed joystick, and additional Select, Start and Function buttons in place of a second stick. Inside, it runs on the Rockchip RK3326 chipset paired with 1 GB of RAM, allowing support for emulators up to platforms such as the Nintendo 64 and Sony PSP.
Other specifications include a 3,000 mAh battery, a single speaker, and dual sets of shoulder buttons. Connectivity is offered through two USB ports and a bottom-mounted 3.5 mm headphone jack.
The R36VX is available in black, purple, blue and white, bundled with either a 64 GB or 128 GB microSD card. On Amazon, the 64 GB version is currently listed at $45.
According to the product listing, the handheld “should be powerful enough to emulate up to systems like the Nintendo 64 or the Sony PSP,” positioning it as a low-cost option for retro gaming enthusiasts.
