Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will bring back familiar battlegrounds when it launches on Nov. 14, 2025, with remastered maps and gameplay mechanics from earlier entries in the franchise. The title continues the storyline from Black Ops 6 while reconnecting to events from 2012’s Black Ops 2.

During a rapid Q&A session, Treyarch Design Director Matt Scronce confirmed that post-launch content would include maps from Black Ops 2. Asked if unremastered maps from the 2012 release would appear, he replied: “Yeah, you can.”

At launch, the game’s multiplayer mode will feature 16 six-versus-six maps, comprising 13 new arenas and three remastered ones. Industry insider TheGhostofHope has reported that classic maps such as Express and Raid will return, with additional remasters like Hijacked under consideration. Scronce noted that the remastered versions will adopt a more colorful design approach compared with the darker palette of Black Ops 6.

The lineup of new multiplayer maps will include The Forge, Toshin, Exposure, Cortez, Scar, Den, Homestead, Colossus, Imprint, Dry Dock, Retrieval, Paranoia and Black Heart. Two larger maps for the Ground War mode will also debut.

With fan speculation centering on the possible return of Yemen, Plaza, Standoff and Meltdown, Activision and Treyarch are leaning into nostalgia to engage long-time players while introducing new content for the series’ global audience.
