Dacia has unveiled the Hipster Concept, a fully electric compact car designed to deliver essential mobility while reducing environmental impact. The company aims to cut the vehicle’s carbon footprint by half compared with current electric models, reflecting its continued focus on affordability and efficiency in an increasingly complex automotive market.
Developed from a user-focused approach, the Hipster Concept combines practicality and minimalism. Measuring three metres in length, it offers four seats and an adaptable boot capacity of up to 500 litres. Dacia’s designers prioritised low weight and resource efficiency, resulting in a model 20% lighter than the brand’s existing electric vehicle, the Spring.
The exterior features a simple, robust design with minimal painted components and the use of recycled materials such as Starkle®. Functional elements, including strap-style door handles and integrated rear lights, support the brand’s design-to-cost philosophy while maintaining durability.
Inside, the car maximises space through a boxy layout and lightweight seating design. Modular fittings based on Dacia’s YouClip® system allow users to personalise the interior with essential accessories. A smartphone docking setup replaces traditional infotainment systems, in line with the company’s Bring Your Own Device concept.
With the Hipster Concept, Dacia continues its push to redefine accessible electric mobility, offering a practical alternative to heavier and more expensive EVs dominating the market. The model highlights the brand’s strategy to balance environmental responsibility with cost-conscious innovation.
