Hollow Knight: Silksong has surpassed six million copies sold worldwide, according to data released by Alinea Analytics. The sequel to Team Cherry’s hit indie title has maintained strong momentum since launch, driven by critical praise and high player engagement.
Steam accounted for the majority of sales, with around four million downloads, positioning PC as the game’s leading platform. Despite a crowded release month dominated by major AAA titles, the report indicated that Silksong secured a place among September’s top five most downloaded games.
Analysts highlighted the achievement as a significant success for an independent developer competing against high-budget releases. The performance demonstrated continued enthusiasm for the Hollow Knight series, which has built a dedicated following since its debut.
Supplementary estimates from other platforms, including PlayTracker and VG Insights, placed the total number of copies sold between 5.8 million and 6.6 million. These figures suggest consistent global demand and strong word-of-mouth momentum across PC and console markets.
Beyond Silksong, Alinea’s report noted that titles such as EA FC 26, NBA 2K26, and Borderlands 4 also delivered robust sales performances in September, underscoring a strong month for the gaming industry overall.
