Early details of a new DJI Osmo accessory have surfaced following a regulatory filing in the United States, offering fresh clues about the company’s next generation of pocket-sized vlogging cameras.

The accessory, listed with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), is described as a wireless remote control called the Osmo FrameTap. While the filing does not include images, it suggests the device is intended to work alongside the forthcoming Osmo Pocket 4 and the rumoured Osmo Pocket 4 Pro.

Speculation around the Osmo Pocket 4 timeline has grown in recent weeks. Earlier reports indicated that DJI had delayed the launch of its next vlogging camera until January 2026, extending the retail life of the Osmo Pocket 3. At the time, YouTuber Photorabz said that quality control issues with accessories may have contributed to the delay, noting that “QC issues with related accessories were holding up the Osmo Pocket 4 from being released anywhere.”

According to FCC documentation, the Osmo FrameTap supports both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, with Wi-Fi likely intended to simplify device pairing. The filing also shows the remote is powered by a 625 mAh battery, suggesting a compact form factor closer in size to a smartwatch than a traditional camera remote.

The name FrameTap indicates that the accessory may allow users to adjust or optimise image framing remotely, without physically interacting with the camera itself. It remains unclear whether DJI plans to launch the Osmo FrameTap alongside the Osmo Pocket 4, the higher-end Pocket 4 Pro, or at a later date, as the company has not formally announced either product.
